​Science Creates is a Deep Tech ecosystem that enables scientists and engineers to turn their groundbreaking discoveries into disruptive businesses that can revolutionise the health of people and the planet.

​This July, we’ll be opening applications for our third fully-funded, UK-wide Engineering Biology Accelerator Programme — delivered in partnership with UKRI, qualified Deep Tech experts and leading global VCs.

​The Science Creates accelerator team will be travelling to cities across the UK throughout July as part of their third Engineering Biology Roadshow.

​Join us for the afternoon in London at Scale Space White City, where we’ll showcase research commercialisation support and host insightful speakers from the field, as we continue to grow our nationwide network to support innovation in Engineering Biology. We’ll also delve into the benefits of the upcoming equity-free accelerator and give tips on the application process.

LinkedIn has had an astounding impact on organisations over the last decade and the social revolution is continuing to skyrocket. Grow & Gather: Tenant Community Garden Lunch event

Join us for a relaxed and rewarding Community Garden Event where we’ll come together to nurture our shared green space, connect with others, and enjoy the outdoors.

  • Herb & flower potting stations
  • Opportunities to share ideas for future garden improvements and find out what plots are free or become a sponsor.

A great chance to meet fellow tenants and enjoy a break from the desk and take a potted plant back to the office or home!

Christmas Fashion Show

Join us for a festive evening of fashion and fun, hosted by our onsite charity shop, Rediscovery. Witness the latest pre-loved trends strut down the runway, and get inspired by the creativity to make your festive wardrobe sparkle a little more.

We’re on the lookout for models (male, female, and children) to take part – if you’d like to get involved, please email ann.gibson@discovery-park.co.uk for more info.

Rediscovery are also seeking donations of pre-loved clothing and party dresses, so please dig out anything you may have and drop them at Discovery Park’s Visitor Centre at your earliest convenience.

Join the 1-Mile Challenge

📅 Tuesday June 24th ⏰ All day 📍 Discovery Park

We’re inviting everyone to take part in our 1-Mile Challenge – or go further if you can! The event will take place all day in the Your Leisure Gym on-site, with flexible time slots available so we can collectively reach our goal of 100 miles in support of Cancer Research.

Whether you prefer running or rowing, both machines will be available – so there’s no excuse not to get involved! Donations are warmly welcomed and can be made via the link already provided.

Encourage your colleagues to join in, cheer others on, and help us reach our target. We’re proud to be the first of many science parks supporting this initiative and will be passing the baton to the next location once our day is complete.

Information- Over the past 120 years, our work has revolutionised what we know about cancer and made discoveries that benefit millions of people globally. Our researchers have been at the heart of some of the biggest discoveries in cancer and have played their part across disciplines, from discovery science and prevention to diagnosis and treatment. In the 1970s, just 1 in 4 people survived their cancer for 10 years or more. Today, with the help of research, now 2 in 4 survive. 

 

  • Over the last 50 years, Cancer Research UK’s work has helped double breast cancer survival in the UK.

  • We were a key player in the development of radiotherapy, which now benefits millions of cancer patients worldwide.

 

  • Our research led to the development of the HPV vaccine, which is expected to prevent almost 90% of cervical cancers in the UK.

 

  • Cancer Research UK helped prove the link between tobacco and cancer, preventing millions of deaths worldwide.

 

  • More than 8 in 10 people who receive cancer drugs on the NHS in the UK receive a drug developed by us, or with us.

 

  • Cancer Research UK played a leading role in the development of abiraterone – a drug that gives men with advanced prostate  cancer more time with their friends and family.
