Our on-site mentoring and free to participate innovation growth programmes cater to a wide spectrum of innovators, from those embarking on their first entrepreneurial endeavour to those who have already incorporated and those who have raised significant equity, ensuring that each participant receives the necessary guidance and resources to thrive.
Discovery Start offers a range of interactive training sessions tailored for first-time entrepreneurs, particularly scientists in academia or industry. Whether you’re pursuing a PhD, engaged in postdoctoral research, or possess insightful knowledge of exploitable technology, these sessions are designed to empower your entrepreneurial journey. Divided into ‘Seedbed’, ‘Germinator’, and ‘Greenhouse’ levels, our Discovery Start events cover everything from raising awareness of the tech ecosystem to fostering creativity and team dynamics to facilitating the creation of commercial entities. Discovery Start emphasises the importance of teamwork and diverse perspectives, ensuring participants understand that success doesn’t happen in isolation but through collaborative effort and adaptive growth strategies.
Discovery Spark is a transformative innovation growth programme for early-stage companies, packed with invaluable resources and support. Across a number of in-person sessions led by seasoned professionals and industry leaders, participants will gain the essential skills needed to lay robust foundations in their business and prepare for investment. Discovery Spark is aimed at businesses across a diverse range of sectors including biotech, medtech, diagnostics and advanced therapies and those who have raised up to £1 million in equity. The programme plays a pivotal role in helping founders take an intrinsic look at their business, enhance their personal development and learn how to improve their pitch decks and presentation skills, vital to secure investment. Spark also offers the opportunity to secure free lab space at Discovery Park and an exceptional package of support from a number of sector specialists.

Registration of interest for the next Discovery Spark will open in August, with the programme kicking off in October 2024.
