Your role
The Hygiene Supervisor will have a pivotal impact in our brand-new facility right at the heart of our state-of-the-art Vertical Farm in Sandwich, Kent, where you will be supporting the site in producing delicious food products by maintaining a top-class level of hygiene in the production areas. Your primary purpose is to supervise a hygiene team and ensure the factory is kept to a high standard that as a minimum will meet, if not exceed our food hygiene standards. This means working with a multi skilled hygiene operative within an effective and efficient hygiene team, delivering high standards of cleaning throughout the site in accordance with company, customer and legal requirements.
Requirements
Hygiene
- Lead, organise, and monitor the hygiene team to meet performance and safety standards.
- Maintain high hygiene standards in the production and warehouse areas, ensuring compliance with food safety and health protocols.
- Manage and develop a multiskilled hygiene team, including training, audits, and performance monitoring.
- Oversee hygiene schedules, procedures, and equipment maintenance, ensuring adherence to all relevant management systems.
- Manage HR admin tasks like absence, holidays, and reviews while maintaining clear communication across departments.
- Control inventory and stock levels of cleaning chemicals, PPE, and housekeeping equipment, ensuring timely replenishment and functionality.
Health & Safety
- Control COSHH management and associated training across all functions.
- Ensure all hygiene staff are trained and competent in all procedures relevant to their role
- To ensure material safety data sheets for all chemicals used on site are maintained, updated regularly and are accessible to all staff
