Arriving by Train

Discovery Park is accessible via three local train stations: Thanet Parkway, Sandwich, and Ramsgate. Trains depart from London St Pancras International or Stratford International.

1. Thanet Parkway (Recommended Route)
  • Journey time: Just over 1 hour from London St Pancras International.
  • Shuttle service: Our electric shuttle bus will collect you from here for the short 5-minute journey to Discovery Park.
  • Recommended train: We suggest booking the 07:39 direct train from London St Pancras to Thanet Parkway on the Tuesday mornings.
2. Sandwich
  • Journey time: Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes from London (some direct trains and some with a change at Ramsgate).
  • Walking distance: Sandwich is the only station within walking distance to Discovery Park (20-30 minutes).
  • Note: This is a slower route from London, with fewer direct train options.
3. Ramsgate
  • Journey time: 1 hour 15 minutes from London St Pancras.
  • Taxi required: Ramsgate is a 15-minute drive from Discovery Park, and we recommend pre-booking a local taxi well in advance to avoid delays. (Information about taxis below.)

Important Note: All Tuesday sessions begin promptly at 10am. Please plan to arrive well ahead of time to ensure a smooth start to your day.

We strongly recommend choosing the Thanet Parkway route for the most convenient and seamless experience, with our shuttle service ready to assist you.

Arriving by Car

If you are planning to travel to the site by car, please use the postcode CT13 9FF for your sat nav.

Discovery Park offers ample free parking.  If you are staying in the Travelodge hotel, you will also have access to their car park which is free to guests only.

If you’re driving an electric vehicle, the Travelodge and Shell Garage close to it, have charging points.

Upon arrival

Upon arrival at site, you will need to check in at the Visitor Centre to obtain your security pass for the day.

Do please remember to factor in all these parts of your journey time, to arrive at the session in good time and ready to make the most of the day.

 

 

Acommodation

For those who have requested accommodation, you will be staying in the Travelodge hotel located on the wider Discovery Park campus.

1 x room per company has been booked.

As a reminder, the reservations are for the evening of the following dates, and have been booked in line with your requests:

  • Tuesday 22nd October
  • Tuesday 5th November
  • Tuesday 19th November

Standard check-in time: from 3pm.
Standard check-out time: until 12pm (noon).

Please head for the Visitor Centre on the morning of the Tuesday session with your luggage, you will be taken across to the Travelodge later in the day to check in.

You will not receive any email confirmation for the hotel as the reservation admin is being handled by Discovery Park.

Arriving early

If you wish to arrive the previous evening, you can choose from a variety of local accommodation options, from self-catering to B&B and hotels.

The Travelodge hotel is on the edge of the site and in walking distance of Discovery Park (less than 5 minutes). Alternatively, walking in from accommodation at The Bell Hotel in Sandwich town centre would take just over 20 minutes.
