Welcome to Discovery Spark Cohort 3! We are thrilled that you’ve joined us, having been selected from a competitive pool of applicants. Over the coming weeks, we’ll work closely with you to explore your business growth potential. This programme differs from intensive accelerators by focusing on key success factors and addressing common challenges without overwhelming your schedule. You’ll also gain valuable insights from peers and industry experts, expand your network, and access tools to refine your strategies, positioning your business for long-term impact and growth. At Discovery Park, we’re building a vibrant community of innovators, offering tailored business support, networking opportunities, and state-of-the-art facilities.  We’re excited to support your journey to success!

Programme Overview

The programme runs over 7 weeks, starting on 22nd October and concluding on 28th November 2024. It features three immersive visits to Discovery Park, each consisting of consecutive days packed with enriching content. The programme culminates with a fourth on-site day at Discovery Park dedicated to pitches and Q&A sessions, where you’ll showcase your business using your newly acquired skills.

Each in-person session offers interactive opportunities, facilitated by experienced professionals, fostering mentoring, networking, and shared learning experiences with breaks provided in between.

The sessions are convened by Renos Savva who has over 15 years’ experience in training life sciences audiences. Renos ran a postgraduate Bio-business programme for 9 years –with its’ pre-accelerator module, The Entrepreneurship Process, informed from successfully growing and spinning out his own startup.

Discovery Spark sessions feature orientation seminars and guest facilitators, further enhancing the programme subject matter.

Agenda Overview

The opening session will give you the chance to meet the rest of the cohort, take a look around Discovery Park & the Barclays Eagle Lab, and explore ‘identity’ in the first themed session.

You will explore executive function, advisory considerations, talent and business development, as well as relax in a social area of the site.

This session will explore startup business considerations focused on governance, sustainability, environmental responsibility and investment/ investor considerations.

Session 4 covers the financial side of startup awareness, the investor view of risk and risk mitigation, and how to get business development right early on.

In this session you will work with a performance enhancement coach using the medium of video playback review to increase awareness of personal performance characteristics.

This session takes an intrinsic look at your brand and why it matters, and finishes by looking at compliance.

Pitch Day! This is when you will showcase your business to the programme prize partners and guest investors using your newly acquired skills.
